Supply Chain Manager

The position of supply chain manager calls for highly communicative individuals with exceptional organisational abilities. This person has overall responsibility for the supply chain process, the combined system of labour and technology that moves a product from its raw state to being a finished and sellable item. A manager will oversee every link in the chain of supply, including the planning, developing, manufacturing and distribution of a product
An important part of the job is to ensure that every stage of the process is as effective as it can be to avoid any unnecessary costs and delays. This requires careful planning, communication and monitoring of stock and manpower, reducing the likelihood of seeing a hold-up in production. Team-building is also an important aspect of the work, involving the constant mentoring and developing of subordinates, so that the production process can work at its best
Candidates must usually have several years’ experience in management and team development, as well as a relevant degree, preferably an MA. Average salaries are around £46,000, but can be as high as £60,000.
