Engineers work for engineering and contracting firms, as well as for manufacturers of air conditioning systems. As travel from site to site is often an important part of the job, a driver’s licence is invariably essential. A willingness to work nights and weekends may also be necessary. Numerous training providers offer relevant NVQ 2 and 3 courses, which can be studied full-time, part-time or by distance learning. Annual salaries are in the £28,000 to £30,000 range
Sales and business development positions within the industry offer salaries in excess of £30,000 plus commission.
