Contract Manager

Professionals known as a contract manager work alongside an organisation’s contract director in handling the numerous tasks associated with the company’s contractual and legal agreements, typically with vendors/suppliers. Often, he or she may provide support for sales, marketing or other departments commissioned with carrying out contract terms and policies, and this individual should be able to evaluate performance in regards to associated agreements
Typically, a successful contract manager has at least a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, law or a similar field, and an MBA can provide a major advantage ahead the competition. The incumbent must have excellent interpersonal and networking skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Those working in this managerial post in the United Kingdom earn anywhere from around £25,000 to more than £60,000 per annum, depending on the industry, size of the firm and the individual’s qualification and experience. Average figures in recent years have been in the neighbourhood of £40,000 per annum.
