Hospital doctors earn salaries in the range of £36,000 to £68,000, while specialists start on £51,000, with the potential of earning up to £85,000 over time
There are also many lower-skilled supporting roles that help to ensure the smooth running of a hospital. Porters receive around £6 an hour, while security officers earn average annual salaries of between £13,000 and £15,000. Administration work within a hospital also provides a wide range of opportunities, from clerks (£12,900) up to directors and managers (£55,000 – 75,000). The standard working week is normally 37.5 hours, although many positions call for shift work and overtime.

There are some doctors who are general doctors, while others have specialisations. Other professionals found in a Hospital include respiratory therapists, pharmacists, or even dermatologists.

Education
The required qualification for working in an Hospital will vary. All doctors do not focus on the same certifications or courses. Because there are administrators, technicians, therapists and surgeons; all these professionals will study at different schools, different courses for different periods of time.
Some professionals can use a diploma or a basic certificate to start their professional lives; while others are required to have no less than a Masters or Post Graduate degree which requires many years of training.
