Marketing assistants are responsible for assisting in implementing a company’s marketing strategies. This is done by carrying out market research, providing administrative support to marketing managers and liaising with external agencies
The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a talent for presentation. An excellent knowledge of marketing principles is also important, as are research skills. Excellent organisational and time management ability is necessary, as is efficiency in computer systems usage and familiarity with office equipment
The average salary for this role is £20,000 per year, with promotion a possibility, leading to a higher salary. Successful applicants will have experience in marketing as well as report writing skills and excellent written and verbal communication levels. A degree qualification related to marketing or business administration would be desirable for this position, with advance awareness of the company’s product or services a major advantage for applicants.

Description

Marketing Assistants are responsible for monitoring and maintaining a marketing campaign. They assist marketing strategy areas by developing and executing different elements. Marketing assistants can do different tasks such as planning market researches, preparing events, overlooking production schedule, dealing with clients, and drafting press releases. They help marketing executives on projects related to profit and sale improvements.

A Marketing Assistant usually performs many of the following tasks:
• Checking inventory.
• Assembling reports with presentations, graphs and information.
• Assisting contract reviews.
• Organising client analysis.
• Collecting market trends.

Marketing Assistant job placements do not require specific qualification, but it is compulsory to have a Higher National Diploma, a degree or a higher education qualification. Degrees related to economics, business, marketing, computing, and math are very useful for this area. Minimum entry requirements for this business are two A levels/three H grades and five GCSEs (A-C)/S grades (1-3).

It is recommended to have relevant experience in commercial business or customer service for job application. Inside a company there are many training schemes including in-house and on-the-job courses.
